Desert Ultra - Truth or Consequences is a small, low-key trail race (10K, Half Marathon, 50K) that starts and finishes at riverside Rotary Park, opening with a foot crossing of the Rio Grande before climbing a sandy, rocky arroyo into the high-desert foothills of the Caballo Mountains. The steep, rocky terrain packs a lot of vertical into each distance, passing old mining sites and the remote Hidden Valley Loop, with a post-race hot-spring soak available in town.
